Q: What are the procedures to to change the brake fluids on a Volvo S60 2002?
What are the procedures to to change the brake fluids on a Volvo S60 2002?
A: The easiest and quickest way is to have someone pump the brakes while you open the bleed valve at each brake caliper. Put a clear hose over the end of the valve to catch the old fluid into a container and make sure you put in fresh fluid all the while into the brake fluid reservoir. You will know when you have entirely fresh fluid in the system. It will not have the yellow tinge that the old fluid will have.
Contrary to what one person answered, yes you do need to change the fluid at the recommended intervals. Brake fluid deteriorates over time.
Q: What are the procedures to to change the oil fluids on a Volvo S60 2002?
What are the procedures to to change the oil fluids on a Volvo S60 2002?
A: Do you mean you'll be changing the oil yourself? If so, I have no idea.
I bought my 2002 S60 in early 2007 and have always taken it to the dealer for every *single* thing. I was lucky enough to get it off directly from the original owner who had leased the car.
This is my second Volvo and I strongly, strongly, strongly suggest that you always service at the dealership if you want your Volvo to last. Volvos are GREAT cars and last FOR FOREVER... but only if you service them with PROFESSIONALS.
Good luck, hope it goes well.
Q: Can i put 18 inch rims and tires on my 2005 volvo s60 t5?
I am looking to get 18 inch rims and tires for my 2005 volvo s60 t5. I currently have the factory 17's on my car. I was wondering if i could put 18's on my car or would it cause rubbing in the wheel well or anything like that? Thanks
A: Yes they will just use a tire with a lower profile, so you wont have any turning issues.

Q: How much will it cost to get two more keys for my volvo s60?
I just lost my last key w/ the remote and I'm using my spare without the remote. How much would it cost to get two of them made? Can I order them online and have volvo program them and cut them?
A: Well if you go to a lock smith, I assume it would cost anywhere between $75-$125 per key...
Or take your VIN (vehicle identification number)to the dealership and they should be able to give you the exact key for your car.
Q: Looking to buy a used Volvo S60 with AWD- what kind of gas mileage can I expect to get?
I'm likely looking for an 02 or 03, need to pay $10,000 or less. I need All-Wheel Drive for the mountains and winter driving. 2002 was the first year for AWD on this car. Any problems to look for that the S60 has had these year models?
A: According to edmonds 19/26
Q: How much will it cost to replace two doors/door panels on a 2001 Volvo s60?
Somebody hit out Volvo on the Driver side in a parking lot, but they were evidently going fast because they caved in the Driver Side doors. Any ideas on what it will cost to fix this?
A: A new door shell will cost around $700 new. Add at least double that much for labor to remove, paint, and replace. You're looking at somewhere between $2000 - $3000. That's if nothing inside the door was damaged. If any of the internal parts were broken or bent, it could cost more.
Q: Anybody ever have a problem with a volvo S60 starter relay?
Seems like I am the only one as there are no hits when I google that.
My volvo will not start but has all power. Last time the relay was replaced and fixed it. Happened again.
Anybody else?
A: You may be having a problem with the immobilizer/alarm system. You have a chip in the key that is read by the antenna around the ignition switch. Common problem, dealer can scan system to verify.
Q: I didn't run my Volvo S60 for a couple weeks and the battery seemed to almost be dead. Is this normal?
I have a 2001 S60. I left and didn't run it for a couple weeks. When I came back, the car started up, but the lights were really dim and flickering, and the clock's time was reset. Is this normal? With 2 weeks without use? Was the battery close to running out? Does this sound like the battery has a problem?
A: Sounds like the battery is almost out of juice.....
recharge it and if that doesn't help you need a new battery.
2 weeks is normally not a problem unless the battery was already bad.

Q: Is the Volvo S60 the most aged production vehicle available for sale? Any comments on the vehicle?
I was thinking about this car because it is probably rock solid, as it has been produced for so long. I would think that after all this lack of R&D that it would be relatively chaep as well. Correct?
Any other comments on the vehicle, or is there another older vehicle for sale? Thanks for your help.
A: Sure,
Go for it. But, don't get the older ones, like when they first came out, they have too many problems. I would say 04/05's are great years for this model. Same with the S80's, nothing but good reviews on those years. The car is not necessarily cheap, probably 14-19K range. But, they're worth it and I guarantee you'll like it. Good luck.
