Q: Could somebody tell me ALL the Volvo truck dealers in north America?
I need all of the volvo truck dealers adresses in north america. Help will be greatly appreciated!! By The Way, i actually need a list of all of the truck dealers in North America or atleast in USA.

A: Just look on Volvo's website. Most manufacturers give you a "find a local dealer" option.

Q: Why can't Volvo dealers diagnose a problem with my car?
This is a stupid problem, but maybe someone knows the answer. My '06 V70 wagon flashes a problem on the LCD readout about twice a month that "gas cap is off/loose". Obviously, I looked, and the cap was fully on (clicked). One time (and only one time) the fault lit the check engine light. I've taken it to two dealers, and both pressure tested the tank, and tested the cap. They both told me that basically I was an idiot, and didn't know how to close the cap. Maybe I don't know how to close a Volvo cap, but it seems to that after you fuel the car, you rotate the cap in a clockwise position, until it starts to click, and just give it another 180 degree. The warning from the display never appeared after fueling - typically about a half tank used.

A: If the gas cap is on properly and the sealing ring is not damaged, then you should have the dealer check the system for leaks. If there are no leaks, then there are a number of components in the system, one of which has an apparent intremittent fault. If the dealer is in any way competent, they should be able to rule these out one by one until the culprit is found. Experience should tell him which is the most likely one to fail A faulty component like this associated with the fuel system could in theory cause a fire in your car. Should this occur, does your dealer wish to be responsible for it, just because he wasn't capable of debugging a simple fault in your fuel system?

Q: Were can I buy a Volvo dealer stamp from?
I have a volvo and have lost my service book. I spoke to the dealer and they sold me a new service book but refused to stamp the book even though I have all the recipets for services and repaires which is around 2k worth. So I no this isnt totally legal but I do have recipets for work so I am looking to find a dealer stamp so I can stamp it myself.

A: write to Volvo Uk, they maintain service records and can prove that the history is complete, the service records are as good as stamped history anyway

Q: Are there any volvo second hand gearbox dealers in South Africa?
S70 gear box with 19 pins

A: Not sure but try asking you local scrap yard. Not saying they might have but they should know of someone

Q: At what milage does the timing belt on a 2004 Volvo v70 xc need replacement?
we recently purchased a 2004 v70 xc from a HONDA dealer whose service dept couldn't answer the question. Our next resource will be a local Volvo dealer.

A: That is correct. The dealer will know for sure. I am a dealer. The timing belt needs to be changed at the 112500 maintenence schedule, no sooner. Feel free to email me any other questions at rbulmer@gengras.com

Q: i want a copy of a volvo key and remote. the volvo dealers price is £170! cheaper where in the uk?

A: get it off EBAY

Q: where can I get spares for a volvo s40 near the midlands?
I require a master cylinder. A new one is expensive. Any one know of any volvo dealers near the midlands

A: Look up Motor Factors or Car Accessory shops in Yellow pages. Most can supply reconditioned M/Cyls at more reasonable prices. I would avoid scrap yards for brake parts as you don't know if the part is'nt the reason the car is in there. You might be able to buy a seal kit from the dealers - some good motor factors too, but S40 parts like M/Cyls & repair kits are not generally stocked as they aren't a fast mover.

Q: Will anyone help me with the Volvo treasure hunt?

A: lucy2cra-- go to www.the-exodus.net/potc3 and you will find all the answers you need.

Q: Volvo 2000: Catalytic converter and oil leaks?
I just had my catalytic converter replaced by a volvo dealer shop last month on my S70 GLT. After less than 300 miles (and less than 3 weeks), I noticed oil leaks underneath my car. Trying to open the hood and see what is going on, but the hood gets stuck and won't open. Just bought the car two months ago and already spend $1300 on the converter, I am getting really frustrated with the problem. Is there anyone who could tell me if the oil leak and stucking hood could have anything to do with the replacement of converter? I am going back to the shop next week, but would like to have some info before I talk to them. Really appreciated for your kind help.

A: The catalytic converter is a part of your exhaust system so it shouldn't have anything to do with your hood. As for the oil leak that relates to a mechanical or sealing problem with your engine. If it is an internal leak it would make your cat. go bad. To many hydrocarbons in the cat. cover all the chemical plates in the cat and cause it to heat up and possibly do more damage. As for spending $1300 on the cat I hope that included the labor, otherwise check out parts.com and see how much it really cost.

Q: Can you get a Volvo fixed at a Ford dealer?
Since ford owns Volvo I was wondering if you have a problem with a Volvo or need a new part could you take it to a Ford dealer?

A: No - The two are seperate companies. Think of it like this - Pepsi owns KFC, but you can't get a bucket of chicken from a vending machine can you? Got a Volvo - go to Volvo.

Q: best way to replace fuel gauge and odometer on my Volvo 740?
we have a dodgy fuel gauge that goes up and down (anyone know if this is the gauge or something in the fuel tank?) also our odometer has stopped working and one from a certified volvo dealer will be a couple hundred pounds. Whereas one from a scrap merchants will be a lot cheaper, but would this invalidate our volvo careline warranty (which is still going after 17 years!!!!) Any advice on this would be much appreciated! Cheers Rachel, Edinburgh

A: if neither the speedo or odometer work, before you spend any money, inspect the connectors on the back of the panel. many times i have found loose connections here and poor grounds at various points along the center console and left and right kick panel areas. .the repair kit from ipd usa is for the 2 series not the 7 but it may be worth asking ipd about this [the part may be the same] they are very helpful and knowledgeable as far as your warranty goes they probably will require certifiable proof of odometer change, with your "end" mileage and the "new" start mileage. and remember test don't guess- a salvor won't take back an electrical item that you find you don't need. good luck

Q: Volvo Service and a Loaner around Baltimore, MD?
Does anyone know of a good Volvo dealer around the northern Baltimore area that offers loaner cars with service (preferably free)? My dealer officially shut its doors last month, and my car needs service, but i definitely need a loaner car...

A: Ford sold Volvo recently, so things are changing. Not many dealers shown on the map below. You could also use the IATN locator below to find a good independent shop close to your home that specializes in Volvo service. http://www.baltimoreareavolvoretailers.com/Public/RetailerLocator.aspx http://www.iatn.net/shopfinder/

Q: Where can I find experienced Volvo mechanics in Toronto? ?
I want my used volvo 2001 S40 repaired by a non-dealer Volvo mechanic. Can someone please where can I find one in Toronto area? This shop needs to be "reasonable" and "honest".

A: I would take your car down and see how much they ask, but before you go down check out driverside.com to get an estimate for how much the service will cost. The site is pretty spot on for giving estimates, so you will have the proper knowledge. Good luck!

Q: what is the pirate chart code for volvo treasure hunt?

A: Each map has a unique dealership number. So you need to get hold of a Dealer. Maybe they can post you one? Hope this helps
