Q: How much does gas cost for an 2007 Mazda CX7 suv that gets 19 MPG to drive from NYC to LA?As well as how long?
I plan to drive from NY to Chicago ( It takes approx 10 hours) then I'll rest for a bit then drive another 10 hours and so on. I drove from NYC to Miami in 18 hours. I thought of shipping it by amtrak auto train but unfortunately they only go from DC to Florida.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks
A: That kind of depends on the price of gas...
About $550 to $600 one way.
Q: Can a Mazda CX7 haul a horse trailer?
Okay, I ride horses so i need a vehicle that will haul a horse trailer.
I know trucks do and i have always wanted one, but i really like the Mazda CX7's.
They are nice and 'girly' which i want.
But can they haul a horse trailer??
Please, I really need to know, my 16th bday is coming up and my dad is making me make my decision quick.
kthnx.
:)
A: You can tow up to 2,000 pounds.
Q: does the 2008 mazda cx7 require premium fuel?
on their website, it says premium is "recommended" but i've read elsewhere that the older models required it and the newer ones do not? i love everything about the car (especially the deal they offered me!) but premium gas is almost 4$... i'm SO not paying that much more than the cost of regular. thanks!
A: The vehicle does NOT require premium fuel However, the engineers designed the vehicle based off the specifications of premium fuel so you will gain optimum performance and functionality by using it. And Using premium fuel occasionally does more harm than good. You should always stick to the same fuel type consistantly. The biggest reason for that is short and long term fuel trim. A vehicle 'learns' the habits of the driver and compensates accordingly. Changing the volatility of the fuel makes it harder for the vehicles computer to do its job. So basically, unless your trying to get the optimum performance level out of your vehicle, i'd just buy the cheap stuff. The average person wont notice the difference from one fuel type to the other.
Q: Know where to find a windshield cover for a 07 Mazda CX7 without going to the dealer?
I recently purchased an 07 CX7! Love the car but the windshield is HUGE!! My old one doesn't fit. Except buying it from the dealer for $45.00 I cant find one to fit. Does anyone have any ideas???
A: Check out Wal-mart. They have a wide variety of sun shades for different vehicle windshields. They are also gonna be way cheaper than the dealership. You should be able to pick up one from Wal-mart from 10.00-15.00. Additionally theirs come in a variety of styles, colors, and types (ie accordian or material fold-up style).
Q: Trouble with ventilation in your Mazda Cx7?
When I am not using the air conditioning, I find that the air coming out of the ventilation is always hotter than the air outside making it uncomfortable to drive without the air conditioning. Anybody has the same trouble?
A: the ventilation sistem that choose hot or cold air is electrical and sometimes it dont switch properly
another thing is..... there is another bottom that opens the vents to take air from the road or recicle the cabin air make sure that bottom is place on the correct position (recicle) thats will close the vents and prevent the hot air from the out side gets inside your car
Q: Does anyone own Mazda Cx7 or Mazda CX9? What's your review?
Does anyone own Mazda Cx7 or Mazda CX9? What's your review? Have you had troubles with it? Recalls? Do you think a Honda would outrun a Mazda? I am debating between the two cars?
A: Well the CX-7 is a I-4 Turbocharged intercooled engine that puts out 244 hp and is a 5 passenger vehicle. The CX-9 has a 3.7 273HP 6 cyl engine that has seating for 7 passengers. The CX-9 is Motor Trends SUV of the year for 2008, spanking the competition up and down. Either vehicle is a great choice, but if you have the bucks I would say you would love the CX-9. The CX-7 starts at $24K and the CX-9 starts at $29.5K
The Mazda line has a higher rating than Honda on reliability.
Of all new Hondas 89% suffer no mechanical defects, Mazda is at 94%
Buy the Mazda.
Q: Can I put regular gas in a 2007 Mazda CX7, instead of premium?
A: To dispel this myth I will comment here.
You can run Regular gas in a turbocharged motor PROVIDED the motor is equipped with a Knock Sensor. The knock sensor will detect the early stages of pre-ignition/detonation and will retard the spark timing accordingly to try to protect the motor.
You will lose a lot of power when this happens as spark timing advance helps generate more HP. Less power = less efficiency, poorer mileage, etc
Also, even though the timing will be pulled back detonation may still occur if the motor is under heavy loads or is running hot due to towing, running up a lot of hills, etc.
To play it safe it is best to use Premium, but in a pinch regular gas can be used.
Besides, Premium gas probably only costs about an extra $5 a tank if you calculate it out.
Q: Experience with the Mazda CX7?
My husband and I are considering a Mazda CX7 and I am looking for some opinions good & bad!!!
Also, if you have the navigation/ keyless entry is it worth the extra cash?
A: I drove the Mazda CX7 for a lengthy test drive. The only downside could be real world gas mileage, turbo maintenance and paint that easily chips. Due to heat stress a turbo is suppose to run for 30 seconds after you have arrived to your destination, in order to reduce the possibility of burn out absent an intercooler. With a high degree of certainty I am sure the Owners Manual will speak to this. Otherwise, I would say that Mazda has made a compelling family case to own a CX7. They have over delivered to the point that it would seem to good to be true...but it is. From what I have read, Mazda seeks to connect with the driver in the most human of ways. They have this philosophy called "jimba itta" rider and horse as one.
Through Kansei engineering and nanotechnology coupled with a philosophical zeal, Mazda tries to translate this ancient statement by manufacturing an intuitive vehicle that is responsive, reliable and simple to operate. Their intention is to make the driving experience emotionally comfortable. This connect is most visible with the Mazda MX5. This same pedigree has similar "genes" in the CX7 with the emphasis on "sport" and a measure of practicality with "ute". If you and your husband like a drivers car, then you will fit into the Mazda demographic. If either of you agree with the individualist style of design, then this too will bring you closer to the brand. If you want the most bang for your buck; Mazda makes a compelling product for your hard earned cash.
Quality and workmanship are highly crafted for a mass production manufacturer. According to Mr. Imaki, President of Mazda they do not seek to be the largest car manufacturer, they seek to deepen their roots while continuing to raise the bar on quality. Mazda has been able to cost share platforms with Volvo and they have poured their investment capital in developing world class 4 cylinder engines that can be placed in multiple products and configurations. The most expensive aspect of car manufacturing are these two items. To the extent that Ford has been involved has been suspension tuning, but that is about it. Mazda is content to grow the business as a specialty car manufacturer that has an overall balance, just as it's cars are designed to perform. This company is not cheap. They have invested wisely with their factories and have minimized the compromises of bringing a new vehicle to market. The "value" passed on to you are a direct result of years of planning and sacrifice that maintains a continum to develop a cost effective vehicle, that both touches the customer and convinces the critics.
Q: hi, does anyone know where i can get a Mazda CX7 in Manila, or if Mazda Philippines plans to bring it in?
A: Don't know, but this site should answer your questions:
http://www.mazda.com.ph/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=DFY/MPH
Q: What car is better, Nissan Murano or the Mazda CX7?
http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPage.action?pageParameter=modelsGallery&vehicleCode=CX7
http://www.nissanusa.com/murano/?dcp=16610868;&dcc=95621152;
They look alike but which one is better performance-wise and reliability in the long run?
A: The CX 7 is a VERY fun car to drive. There isn't any doubt in my mind which one I would get!!!
Q: why does mazda cx7 technology package require power seats?
I was looking at the sports model with technology package and it says that it requires power seats. Does anyone know if this car has a driver memory function?
A: I don't see that being a requirement on the Mazda site, nor does it have memory seats. That is one expensive option package I think.
Q: can someone please give me step by step instructions on removing the stock head unit from a 2008 Mazda cx7?
A: pry silver strip from plastic peice behind it. Phillips or 7mil to remove all screws. Pretty easy. I added a nav to mine. Damn I love this car. No matter what car we have on the lot I can't imagine giving up my 7. You have 2 or AWD?
Q: does the mazda cx7 come ipod ready?
i sat in one yesterday and couldn't find a aux input jack, but the sales guy told me it was ipod ready. anyone know anything about this?
A: For some weird reason they do not have an aux. jack standard on the CX-7. You can purchase an ipod module that will charge your ipod, and let you select tracks from the steering wheel. Should be about 180.00 installed from your Mazda dealer.
Q: I recently purchased a new 08 mazda cx7 which was produced in september of 07. The night I bought it I noticed
the brakes felt funny. The dealer told me the rotors had warped from sitting on a lot for almost a year. Seems crazy to me! Also, my exhaust is rusted already. Help, sounds crazy for a new car with only 100 miles!!!
A: Rotors don't warp from sitting on the lot. Either the lugnuts were over torqued (very possible from the factory) or someone warped them while test driving the car. The brakes can feel a little funny for other reasons as well. Also it could have been something like the surface rust and the service dept. claimed turning the rotors to mazda to get paid to take the rust off. May not have been a warped rotor.
As far as the exhaust, what part is rusted. There are only a few parts that will rust, most are made from stainless steel or aluminized steel. Some things like the secondary convertor and exhaust manifold can rust.
And just so you know. Just because a car was built in sept 07 doesn't mean it was on the lot then. Sometimes it can take months for a vehicle to ship from the factory to the dealers lot.
