Q: How much for fixing side piller on Mazda 626?
I have a mazda 626 1997 the side piller and doors have been smashed in how much would you suggest it would cost to fix it???

A: Let's see a 10 year old Mazda two doors two quarter panels and front pillar middle pillar and rear door latch area damage Over 4,500 dollars damage. There are fly by night body shops that can do a horrible job 2,000 dollars just hang doors and bent wrinkle sheet metal. And when you go back for wind noise water leaks the repair shop will not be there. Did you have full coverage? did the other drivers insurance ? Probably not if you are trying to repair this car is the Mazda a four Cly? I would not invest time and money keeping it on the road. If a V-6 car more value to that car it might be a draw whether I fix the old car up or not. Then mileage is a factor either engine over 150,000 miles can you hope for 50,000 more out of the transmission brakes struts and new set of tires? Think not. Count your blessings no one was hurt and go out with the insurance settlement or Lawyer judgment. And buy a new car.

Q: I have a 1995 mazda 626. The hand on the temp gauge is going a little past the midpoint but it's not running h
I have a 1995 mazda 626. The hand on the temp gauge is going a little past the midpoint but it's not running hot. It will go back down before it runs hot. My uncle said that I might need to get a lower temperature themostat or a coolant temperature sensor. What does that sound like?

A: Nothing really to worry about. The car has an electric fan which doesn't operate all the time. While driving on the highway it won't come on at all due to the airflow through the radiator at higher speeds. Around town the temperatre will get to a determined level and the the electric fan will cut in and allow extra air-flow through the radiator allowing it to cool down while driving in trafic and around town

Q: Can I get a replacement electronic key for my Mazda 626?
I bought a Mazda 626 with onlt a standard key. I would like to buy an electronic one ,but where do I get them from.

A: Dealer would be expensive but would save you a lot of headache because it would be the correct one for sure. You can try Ebay, but there may be more than one version available and you may end up buying the wrong one. I would try to dealer first and see how much it costs. Also, if you buy it from the dealer, they will likely program it for you at the same time at no cost.

A: Inside the fuel tank.

Q: How good of a car is a 2000 Mazda 626 LX?
I am looking for a car for my 19 year old. We found a Mazda 626 and I do not know much about them. Are they a reliable car? I would LOVE to get him a Toyota or Honda but I just CANNOT afford it! I have about 5 grand and the car I was looking at is under that. Oh yeah and I do not want to put him in a compact car. He has only been driving for a little over a year and I worry about him. I want him safe above all else!

A: My answer is just a matter of opinon. With many years experience with two different Mazda's, I would feel safe to say that it is probably a safe bet for a reliable and economical form of transportation depending on maintenence and condition. I've owned an '89 B2200 for almost six years to the day and have had very little trouble with it. Years ago my mother owned a 1984 RX7 for several years. During this time it acquired over 60,000 miles with really only two serious times of expense. One of those was from abuse from a previous owner almost assuredly.

Q: Do alot of people have trouble with there Mazda 626 Transmissions?
I have a mazda 626 that won't drive. It will reverse, but it wont go move in drive. It seems like it is not shifting, but it will move in 3rd gear.

A: i own a repair shop, and i have not seen a lot of them give a lot of problems, but the automatics do sometimes give a few problems ,but the stick shift ones hardly ever tear up ,you might need to have it checked out real good just to be sure its ok ,because it might can be repaired right now,and it not cost to much to do,if it hasn't gone out already, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

Q: What's the best way to sell a used Mazda 626?
I'm trying to get rid of a 93 Mazda 626. Any suggestions as to the best place to list this, to get rid of it? Thanks. I'm just north of Houston.

A: www.craigslist.com, click on your town and set yourself up... I've unloaded lots of stuff on craigslist, it's very eclectic and people are into reading it. To value your car, I use www.kbb.com AND www.edmunds.com....Edmunds is usually a little lower than kelley blue book, so post the kbb pricing info on craigslist. Good luck.

Q: How to change Oxygen Sensor for Mazda 626?
I'm trying to change the oxygen sensor for my Mazda 626. However, it's so difficult for me to unplug the old one. I couldn't get the stock wiring part off from the wire connector. Is there any tricks for me to unplug? Thanks for your advice!

A: There should be one or 2 locking tabs squeeze or separate the tabs (be careful they are usually brittle) and GENTLY work out the connection with a small screwdriver. when you install your new sensor be sure not to touch the probe. the oil on your fingers can ruin it.

Q: any ideas on what might cause a P0421 on a 2002 Mazda 626?
Have a CEL on my Mazda 626. Reading OBD code P0421. Any ideas on possible solutions?

A: Bang on the catalytic converters and listen for a rattle inside. You should also have the data stream checked by a professional. If memory serves me this a catalysy in-efficiency problem. Most of the time a converter has failed.

Q: Why don't my tail lights, and a couple of other lights work on my 2000 Mazda 626?
I have a 2000 Mazda 626 and there are several 'lights' not working all of the time. The main ones being my tail lights. It's all of the lights that would run off of the same fuse. Tail lights, license plate light, glove box light, and the dash lights. The fuse is not blown. Neither is the bigger fuse under the hood.(can't remember what it's called) The turn signal lever was just replaced. We thought that was the problem. But it's not.

A: replacing things like crazy people only gets spend un-necesary time and money get an electrical tester and test every cable of all bulbs dont work, also check with the tester every fuse inside the car, there is a fuse call tailights but dont know exactly if your 626 has it, that is why i suggest to check all fuses with the tester an eye inspection of fuses are not that good as tester check, so dont trust your eyes sometimes the car alarms gets crazy and makes those things so disconect it only for check electrical issues are not that easy to find so get a lot of patience or a lot of money and change thing like crazy people or pay for the job done

Q: Why does my Mazda 626 with the 2.2L motor have idle surge when it is cold?
I recently replaced the motor in my 89 Mazda 626 with a motor from a 91. The car runs great but I get an idle surge when the car is cold. After the car warms up sometimes it idles fine and other times it idles real low and wants to stall? What could be causing the idle surge? I have a new radiator and have no overheating issues.

A: Mazdas have had that charecteristic since they went on the market long ago. The reason for that is that to get everything to work properly, Mazda operates at a much higher temperature than any other cars. No need to fear. I also have a Mazda 626 and have consulted the pros at the dealership. To correct the low idiling, Keep the injectors clean by having them looked at periodically. Good fuel additives can be very helpful.

Q: Can I put a trailer hitch on a 2001 Mazda 626?
I have a 4-cylinder 2001 Mazda 626 (4-door sedan, manual trans.) and want to know if I can put a trailer hitch on the back of it big enough to tow a trailer w/ small motorcycle. I don't own a pickup truck or SUV?

A: Yes, you could likely tow a motorcycle with your 626. I would not exceed about 800 pounds, trailer and all, though.
