My mazda 6 is an automatic transmission. When I am just starting to speed up my car sort of jerks into the next gear. It always jerks right around the 20 KM/h mark. If I speed up REALLY slowly it doesnt do this. It also doesnt jerk once I am going a little faster.I hope I am explaining this well enough.. What could be the problem?
I also wanted to put that it is a 2004 with less than 50,000 KM's on it
A: check you tranny fluid make sure its full
Q: Are you able to install rear pop out windows on a Mazda 6 Wagon?
Its a 2003 Mazda 6 GSX M5, and need to get air in the back for the dog, any help or alternative ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
A: well if you have seen those crazy things what people do on cars then is possible to install a pop window on your car but there is nothing on market that could help you
so you have to created what you want, after you invented that sell the idea on ebay :)
Q: Mazda 6 V6 Grand touring - Can it pull a trailer?
I am planning to do my first cross-country move, and was wondering if my mazda 6 V6 Grand touring, can pull a trailer ~1000 pounds? If someone has some tips in making sure i have a smooth ride, I would appreciate that too.
Thanks
A: unless it's a real light trailer , you'll probably ruin your transmission : (
Q: why don't my heated seats on my Mazda 6 work?
I recently purchased a used 2003 Mazda 6 S with the heated front seats. However, when i turn the switches on, the seats don't get any warmer. I'm not exactly sure how heated seats even work, so if anyone has any information about what the problem may be, I would really appreciate it. Also, if I have to take it to the dealer, what's a ballpark figure of how much I'd be looking at spending?
A: Hi Lisa,,
I'm not 100% certain on your particular car model,,,
But almost All heated seats have a thermostat which sets a
sort of "ThreshHold Temp" at which the heaters operate.
If ambient temp is too high,,they wont come on.
On most cars,,it's gotta be really pretty cold before they'll activate.
Then they automatically shut off before seat becomes really toasty-warm.
Most seat heaters are NOT as comfy a feature as it sounds like they would be.
Maybe someone will answer with exact temps & details.
If not,,,you should be able to call any Mazda Dealership service department.
I'd bet they are WELL familiar with the question and can explain it for You.
Or,,if You happen to have the original Owner's Manual which came with the car,,,it may have some info/details in there??
I may be wrong,,,but I'd betcha it's just not cold enough for them to work.
Good Luck
Q: How do I re-set service light on a Mazda 6?
How do I re-set service light on a Mazda 6?
Thanks,
A: Disconnecting one battery cable may temporarily reset it, but you'll loose your radio programming and the car's computer has to relearn your driving patterns etc. See details below.

Q: Anyone having problems with their Mazda 6?
I have a 2005 Mazda 6 and have all the strangest little problems but when I take it into the shop they tell me its normal.
I have play in the steering wheel.
Brakes make sounds when turning the wheel hard (like into a parking space)
Steering wheel is making clicking sounds.
I have never been so unhapy with any car I have ever purchased. I would never own another mazda again. I bought it new, but I've wned better cars with over 100,000 miles on them. Namely Toyotas.
A: Trade it in for a VW. I have a Jetta, and I LOVE it. Great car.
Q: Whats the difference between a Mazda 3 and a Mazda 6?
Are they good cars? reliable? What is the average price? What is their depreciation value like? any other reccommendations?
What are good features of it? safety? gas mileage? etc.
I;m asking about the Mazda because I read about it in one of my bf's car magazines and it rated pretty high.
I am going to buy a car in like 5 months and I will be just out of college and into the real world. I need something reliable and not too expensive. Everyone says a civic but EVERYONE has it.
I really like the Lexus IS300, Acura TL, Corolla S (to give you an idea of the styles I like) but too expensive!
A: okay, i'm not really a technical car person, but...I think sometimes just an insticntual opinion is good too......I travel a lot and therefore, end up driving lots of rental cars and BY FAR the best intermediate sized all around car I've driven is the mazda 6. It had extremely smooth handling, a good size engine, so lots of umpph behind the gas pedal, etc. etc.
The mazda 3 is also nice, a smaller car, smaller engine, but it all depends on what you need it for.
Anyway, I'm sorry I can't give you more specifics, but really, so many different rental cars and the *only* one that was good enough to stand out was the Mazda 6.
Q: Acura RSX, Mazda 6 or Toyota Celica for a teenager?
I'm thinking of pruchasing a new car for myself. I ahve found a 2003 Acura RSX with 123,000 miles a 2004 Mazda 6 with 92,000 miles and a 2000 Toyota Celica with 90,000 miles. They are all about the same price and have about the same features. Which one is the better buy?
A: go with the mazda. Its probably the least expensive car to insure (your insurance rate will already be high) Its also a reliable car.
I saw an article yesterday that said that the Acura RSX is one of the more expensive cars to insure. The article also said that small cars like the RSX and the Celica in general are also more expensive to insure because people can get into more accidents (the cars are small and easy to handle in traffic, so many people would drive more dangerously)

Q: Please only answer if you own a Mazda 6?
I have a 2005 Mazda 6. It makes a squeling sound which is coming from the brakes only when I make an extreamly sharp turn and a low speed, such as into a parking space. Started doing it right after I bought the car. Two different dealers insist it is normal and there is nothing that can be done. It is embarrasing and makes the sound that power steering makes when it is bad. I got new brakes and then it went away and came back again. It is for sure the Mazda Brake pads. Does anyone else have this problem. Give me a break. Its not the early 1900's. I find it hard to beleive that this is something I'll just have to live with.
By the way, non mazda brake pads make the sound go away but causes other problems so I have to use the Mazda pads, but the problem is I'm not going to be responsible for any costs and mazda says the sound is normal.
A: it can also be your bearings .. bearing sonly make noises when your turning .. if the sound slows down as u slow down and picks up when you pick up it most def is the bearings .. i would have that checked out ..
p.s. the stealerships neve rknow what they are talking about .. they can care less .. unless your buying a car
Q: Is there a special oil filter wrench for the Mazda 6?
It is next to impossible to get the oil filter off. I've checked the Mazda website but can't find any info.
Yes, taking it in is expensive because of the oil type & filter type. Over $60 for an oil change!!!
The problem is that the filter is made of paper, not solid, so most wrenches won't work.
A: There is a tool that the Mazda techs use but you can't buy it anywhere. I had the same problem, try using one of the cap type filter wrenches. With some luck this will work for you.
Q: Which is a better purchase the Mazda 6 or the Mercedes C350 Sport?
This question may appear a little vague, so here is a bit of clarity. I am not that familiar with Mazda's and am not sure if they will hold up in the long run in comparison to the Mercedes, I have observed Mercedes owners to keep their cars longer. Which is a better purchase in the long run...
A: It's your choice. Do you want to say I own a Mercedes Benz or a Mazda? I personally would go for the Benz so I don't look like everyone else in their Japanese cars! MB warranty is 48 months or 50,000 miles, Mazda is 36 months 36,000 miles. The warranty alone will tell you the C350 is the more reliable car, and the Germans are very hard on their cars, i.e. Autobahn extended speeds. Mazda can't compare to the German engineering. Also, the resale value of a MB will be much better than a Mazda.
Q: Why did my '04 Mazda 6 quit while in drive?
I have a 2004 Mazda 6. I just got a brand new battery last July and a brand new remanufactured engine in January (long story there). Today, while I was approaching a stop sign, my car just all of a sudden died. I was able to restart my car and continue driving. However, I am afraid that when I leave class it won't start. Does anyone know why this may have happened?
Thanks!
A: Bad connection to battery, corrosion on battery connections, insufficient voltage from battery
Q: How easy is it to fix up a mazda 6 with performance parts?
I'm trying to fix my mazda up for racing but dont have that much cash rite now so what would be an ideal performace part to start off with?
A: dude ebaymotors.com has very cheap performance parts. i just bought a k&n intake system for $35.
Q: what other cars are built on the same platform as the Mazda 6?
what other cars are built on the same platform as the Mazda 6
A: Ford Fusion (Ford ownd Mazda)
Mercury Milan (Ford again)
Q: What performance parts are most effective for 05 Mazda 6 s?
I have a 05 Mazda 6 s 5-speed, I was looking for what parts have been the most effective for price. I was looking at exhaust/headers/intake flywheel/underdrive pulley
My car is stock right now, I'm getting $1000 to spend on performance,
What exhaust is good for Mazda 6? I want to make it sound a bit meaner, my friends often make of it because they can't hear it, but my car is faster than most of theirs... =/
Short Ram Air vs Cold Air? Either one worth the money?
Where can I find some good priced headers that I would be able to feel the difference with?
My mazda already revs fast, is the flywheel/underdrive pulley already to light to really work with making it better?
I don't want to use NOS, and I havn't heard anything good for chipping it.
BTW again on the exhaust, what sounds good on Mazda, I'm considering putting a MUCH smaller muffler on my car until I get some parts, its SO quiet... =/ I want it to have a good import car sound, no flowmaster/straight/glass packs
A: Get a cat back magnaflow exhaust cold air filter k and n or aem
also some headers, short ram air is not as good but it is best only if your area floods alot
