Q: Interior lights 2004 lincoln navigator?
I assume 2004 lincoln navigator has backlight for all buttons (steering wheel, ac/heat, window controls etc) but none of the work in my 2004 navigator (just got it). I'm sure it's a fuse that's dead so I'd like to change it instead of waiting until afetr long weekend to go back tot he dealer. Does this sound right, and where is that fuse (and fuse box) located?
Thanks!
I checked fuse #6 (closest to interior backlight/illumination I could find) and it didn't fix the problem.
Cluster illumination works fine, dimmer is ok too (it can dim cluster illumination) but I still can't figure out what would caus eillumination for ac/heat (all buttons there), buttons located on the doors, steering wheel, and info/setup/reset buttons to NOT ILLUMOINATE.
Any ideas???
A: you can download the owners guide at www.genuineservice.com this will tell you where to locate the fusebox
Q: 2004 Lincoln Navigator Advice?
Looking for my first car, I really like the 2004 Lincoln Navigator I am 16 years old and really prefer the SUV type of car. Any known problems with the car? Any other cars in the $10,000-$25,000 price range that you think is better?
A: It's a Lincoln. Just because it does not cost $40,000 right now does not mean it gets any cheaper to fix.
Wait until you have to change the spark plugs. There is a spark plug extractor tool kit for this. Yay!
Q: What causes my 2004 Lincoln Navigator to make a thumping noise in the rear? May be the rear AC.?
A: rear blend door or mode door actuator. either one is around $100 for the part. pretty easy to replace yourself.
Q: Does any one know the most common 2004 Lincoln navigator problems, such as mechanical etc?
A: Some air suspension problems nothing major. Seat heaters sometimes quit working. Generally a pretty reliable truck.
Q: how do you know when it is time to change a fuel filter on a 2004 lincoln navigator?
A: Ford scheduled maintenance schedule will tell you. You can find them online. I think ford.com has one somewhere in there. It is for all their vehicles. Any exceptions will be listed on the chart.
Q: 2004 Lincoln Navigator Question, please read in case you may be able to help ! Thanks !?
Just got new tires put on. A few days later "check air ride" light is on and is riding low on the passenger side.
I have called two dealers and it is 85 bucks to have it hooked up to diagnostics and I have had people tell me that isn't even 100% that they can tell you what the problem is.
Please, if you are familiar with this vehicle give me some advise as to what to do or where to take it to.
Thank You!
A: Sounds like your shocks lack hydraulic fluid. I think you need new ones.
Q: My 2004 Lincoln Navigator says "Check Air Suspension". Does anyone know the problem and or price??
The right front end is lower the rest of the truck.
A: Take it to a qualified Ford/Lincoln Technician ASAP. suspension probs if not taken care of can damage frame and the rest of the suspension.
Q: i have a 2004 lincoln navigator. what does it drive like when it needs rear differential oil in it?
A: On a car that new, it shouldn't need rear differential fluid. If you have driven it through high water, or had a leaking seal then maybe it needs service. The lubricant is a synthetic lubricant so it shouldn't need changing yet. But in theory if you didn't have enough fluid it would maybe make a slight grinding sound under hard acceleration or hard turning. You'd probably get some sort of vibration in the steering wheel also.

Q: Will a 2004 navigation disk work on a 2000 lincoln navigator?
i have a 2000 Lincoln Navigator and i was searching ebay for the navigation disk for it. i found this one...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=140299134227
however it says 2004 so i was just wondering if this would work on my Lincoln's navigation system?
in the item description it says that it was used on a 2003 Lincoln, so i don't know
A: no, 2000 was cd rom and 2004 is DVD
Q: What are your views on the 2004 Lincoln Navigator?
I'm thinking of purchasing one, and would like your input on reliability, problems you've encountered, prices you've paid and mileage.
The one I'm looking at is a 2004 4X4 V8, with 60,000 for $16,997. It comes with an 8 yr. 100,000 mile warranty. It's clean, but I really know nothing about the vehicle. I'm looking for a larger SUV and thought this price would fit my budget.
Any thoughts? Do you think this could be a good buy?
Luckily work is only 10 miles from my home; and the baby sitter is in between work and home, so gas really isn't an issue for us. Especially because we already drive an SUV. Yes, the navigator will probably be a little worse, but we want something big because of our growing family.
I would really appreciate views from people who own or have owned one. What year was yours, what problems did you have, pros and cons please.
Thanks again for everyone's input.
A: I am going to buck the crowd on this one and say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this car. Granted I have a 2008 and I use it in my business so there are usually 7 people in the vehicle making the gas mileage of 14mpg function like 98mpg. In any case, the ride is awesome; quiet, stable, easy to handle, super visibility, I can't say enough good things about it! (And I have never owned a Ford Product before. Remember that the 8 yr - 100,000 mile warranty is probably just another 40,000 miles in your case but that is pretty good and you can't beat the price. Mine new was $62,000. There is nothing on the road with more room for your growing family and in terms of safety, it is a solid vehicle with a lot of protection.
Q: 2004 Lincoln Navigator: Can't get the RF rotor off to replace it. How do you pull it off???
The caliper is off. I have tried to beat the rotor off with a rubber hammer...no luck. There is a race(bearing) in the center held in by a stud, lock ring & nut. Will this need to be replaced as well? I have changed rotors before but never incountered this scenario. Do I need a puller, slide hammer? What am I over looking? Need input!! Thanks
A: You DO NOT need to remove the center axle nut on this application. If you do, you risk damage to the hub & bearing assembly. BIG $$. Simply remove the caliper and caliper bracket. Spray generous amounts of PB blaster or WD-40 to the area around the hub. SMACK the OUTER SIDE of the brake rotor until it breaks free of the hub to remove. The above poster is referring to vehicles that are 2WD. I have never heard of a 2WD Navigator. Hope this helps.
Q: lincoln navigator 2004/5
anyone have one?
is so, how much do you usly spend on gas a week and how much do you drive.
ALSO
do you use premium or regular gas, cause i heard you can use regular?
Are the gas prices for this car really bad?
A: For a full size luxury SUV, you cant beat a Navigator. Yes, they're thirsty, but that's normal for the segment. The 05's have a 3 Valve engine with a 6 speed trans and regular gas recommended, so you will get a little better mileage, but will spend more. The 04's have a 4V engine, bit will run you about 3-5K less. Look for a certified one at a Lincoln dealer because it will have a factory 100,000 mile warranty.
Q: has any recalls been found for 2004 lincoln navigators?
tooo many problems to name.
A: If you are the original owner, you should get notifications in the mail. If you are not the original owner, contact Ford Customer Service to inform them that you are the new owner. The ownership change may not have been registered. There is only one recall on this vehicle/model/year. Take your vehicle to the dealer and they can tell you if the recall applies to your vehicle.
Q: Air suspension problems with my lincoln navigator?
On My 2004 nav all the sudden the front pass. side is lower than the rest of my vehicle. It seams as the air suspension is not lifting that side. I have 26" wheels and now they are scraping on the fender wall. I don't wanna get raped by the dealership. has anyone had this problem? (Ohh and NO its not because I have 26's and YES I know I should take it to a mechanic DUH!!)
A: Just junk that expensive crap and swap to Expedition coil springs.
Your wallet will thank you and you will not notice enough ride difference to complain.
