Q: How can I adjust height on 2001 Lincoln Navigator?
I took my truck to the dealer to see if anything was wrong with air suspension , they said everything was alright. It still sits a little low to me is there anyway I can adjust the height of this truck?
A: in the rear there is a senser in the back on the rear it is adjust able but shut suspension off first before adjusting
Q: Can i lift a 2001 lincoln navigator with air ride suspension?
I was curious if there was a air ride suspension kit that i could purchase that would replace the existing one and add some needed height, or maybe some type of spacer kit? Would any type of body lift work? Any or all help would be greatly apperciated.
A: Convert to regular shocks. The air ride suspension is a pain-in-the-neck to deal with, and all Lincolns' seem to fail at one time or another. Very expensive to fix.
Q: 2001 Lincoln Navigator EGR Valve. Location and Directions needed!?
I have a 2001 Lincoln Navigator displaying error code P401. EGR problem. I wanted to just replace the valve but I can't find it. I have been unable to locate any pictures or directions on how to replace it online. Hopefully you all can help me. In the manual it displays a picture of a different engine than the one that I have (I have a 5.4l). Any input or steps in the right direction will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
A: OK, First of all, don't change the EGR valve.... this code is 99.99% percent of the time caused by the DPFE sensor that controls the egr valve operation....
The DPFE sensor is located on the backside of the intake, and really isn't that tough to change, and alot cheaper....
You probably have to go to a dealer to get the DPFE sensor,Ford part basic number 9j460, and it is about 100 bucks or so...
And I bet you have lost about 2-3 mpg since the light was on right?

A: The tire is underneath the rear cargo area of the vehicle or where the third row seat is if you have them.
There is a hole in the bumper with a rubber stopper in it. Remove the stopper, insert the crobar, straight end first, into the hole until it matches up with the 'screw' inside the hole and crank. The tire will eventually fall to the ground. Either pull it out or drive your vehicle forward to expse the tire.
Here's some useless information. If you notice, the face of the tire closer to the front of the vehicle is angled down. This is a safety issue where if you were to get rear ended, the tire has no chance of going into the passenger cabin and will do little damage to the rest of the car if it is dislodged.
Q: i own a 2001 lincoln navigator. my truck have been doing the cut off at stop signs and lights when i stop.why?
its been doing this for months now. I also notice when i'm in reverse it sputters, like shake a little and if i dont rev the gas it will cut off also. i recently got my oil changed and tires rotated and balance and they checked the fluids in my truck and they said they were fine...what could it be
A: I would guess its the IAC. (Idle air control) Any autozone can check it for free pep boys charges.
Also Any autozone can scan you car for free and see if there are any codes.. (For example if your ABS light is on.. that might mean you have a code to check)
Anyway , its free so it cant hurt.

A: could be the control head, the blend door actuator or a plug in the heater core. i couldn't say for sure without actually testing it.
Q: Electric Short 2001 Lincoln Navigator?
I had a short in my starter relay. It melted the solenoid which I replaced. The car turns over but it will not start All of the fuses and relays are good. The battery is good. I hooked up a code reader to the car and it would not connect. I am told the computer will give a code even if it is bad. Is it power to the computer? What would be the best way to test that?
A: if all the fuses are good and you turn the key ti the on position, the 'check engine' light should come on. if it doesn't, you need a new pcm.

considering buying a navigator and want to know how do they handle in deep snow? i owned a tahoe and it was a a champ in deep snow and water! not ever a problem.
A: yeah, but newer one's will handle better (better made)!!!!!

A: when a fuse blows it is caused by to much current in that circuit. and if it keeps blowing the same fuse you have short on the circuit of that fuse. if still under warranty take it back and they will fix the short in that circuit if not on warranty take it to any repair shop
Q: Why does the child safety locks on my 2001 Lincoln Navigator enable on it's own even after I disable it? HELP!
The thing is, one of the doors is completely screwed!! The other door can be used from the inside a couple of times and then the child lock will enable itself again. I tested the door just to see what was going on and everytime I open and close the door I could see the latch creeping back to the lock mode. My fathers Expedition used to do the same thing but I have not found any recalls on either car. I don't know what to do. This is no fault of mine so maybe they will fix it for free. Someone help me!!! Is there anyone else out there that have had a similar problem or know of someone that has??
A: Something is wrong because my 01 navigator door locks work fine... Sounds cheap but put a toothpick in there to hold it to the position you want
Q: 2001 Lincoln Navigator Start Problem?
I replace the heater core in my Navigator. Put every thing together and place the power leads that went off the starter relay one on each of the large bolts on the relays. The car started I smelled an electrical burn. It I disconnected it found out what I did wrong. I went to start the car again. I got a high pitched whining noise. I was told that something broke loose in the starter. I got a new starter. The engine cranks but does not start. The battery seemed to drain down to almost nothing. I charged the battery and went to start in. It seemed to have enough power to turn over but the engine did not start. I hooked the charger up again and it seemed that the battery had drawn down some. Is it the battery or something worse?
A: power lead have one big cable and a small one on one side the other side only have a one big one
make sure you get the ground right
Q: can i use regular gas for my lincoln navigator 2001?
A: here's the deal if you are doing just normal driving no hard accelerating and no towing or hauling extra you can get by with regular even if it requires premium. If you like to race the engine and run high RPM's or tow you should use premium. But don't do like someone said about changing different types of fuel pick one maybe like mid grade and stick to it don't switch back and forth.
