Q: lexus is250?
I want to buy a 2006/2007 lexus is250 with nav what do you think a good selling price would be? It seems like mainly the is350s have the nav and the prices are really high.

A: I just took one in on a trade for $26,000... It was a Red IS 250 AWD with Nav with 26,599 miles. A car like that "Certified" (Lexus 3 year 100,000 mile comprehensive warranty) will retail for $32,500. You can Buy it for $30,000 - $31,000. The problem with that car is there is a high demand for them and there aren't many back off of Lease yet. I would wait until May or June once a few leases are up and the cars are coming back in. you will get a better deal because the market will be flooded. I have a list of 5 clients waiting for 06 IS's... Usually its a matter of which salesperson gets to work first and can contact their customer first to purchase them. We won't even advertise them online because by the time the car is listed it's already sold.

Q: How often do you need to purchase new tires for the 2007 Lexus IS250? How much do they cost?
About to purchase my new IS250, and recently read that the tires need to be replaced every 15,000 miles. Is this necessary? How much are you paying for your replacements?

A: Tires do wear out quick on an IS 250. A lot depends on how you drive the vehicle and you need to make sure you keep them at the proper inflation. The IS has larger tires on the rear, so they can't be rotated, which causes them to wear quicker. However most of the tires I've replaced on an IS have been at 20,000 - 25,000 miles. Cost will vary on tires by brand and the rear tires will cost more than the front tires since they are larger. But you will probably be looking at at least around $1000 for a set of oem tires.

Q: Which do you think is better a Lexus IS250 or the new Acura TSX and what are the advantages of the lexus?
Why would the lexus be a better choice if the TSX already comes with everything and as a 4 cylinder is just as fast if not faster than the IS 250 with much more space inside?

A: I prefer the Acura TSX. I like the body style better and the maintenance is less expensive. This car drives great. The IS250 costs more overall. Sticker price and maintenance. It's cute, drives well but there is no room for passengers. Plus, if you check Lexus.com there is a dashboard rattle bulletin for the '06 -'08 models. And a fuel pipe recall for the '07s.

Q: Will my new Lexus is250 AWD always be in all wheel drive when i drive?
If its always in all wheel drive, isnt that bad for gas? And also, since my car is light weight, wouldn't my car still slide in the snow?

A: yup all your wheels have power going to them, the car can switch more power to the wheel that has more grip through speed sensors and the computer. yes you still might slide, just dont take corners too fast and hit the gas hard and you will be ok, and make sure you have good tires also. in snowy weather tires are always worth their price if they can make your car stop and handle better.

Q: Would it help trading in my Lexus is250 rear wheel drive for an -all wheel drive during winter season?
do these questions matter? i need to know for when it snows.

A: Yes getting an AWD IS 250 would be better than having a RWD IS 250 when it comes to nasty weather. That is not unique to the IS though most AWDs perform better than RWDs in snow and ICE. I would also recommend changing to winter tires. Summer tires perform badly in the winter due to the tread type and rubber compound. Some people who drive poorly get a false confidence in the AWD system and assume that because they can accelerate fast in awd they can stop fast as well. let me assure you that this is not the case. The AWD system can not overcome the simple laws of physics.

Q: Car question: I have an unreliable '02 VW Passat and am looking at a Lexus is250. How will it handle?
I love how my car handles but it is sooo unreliable. I have taken the IS on 2 test drives but am still not sure if it will handle okay on the interstate. The IS350 has too much power for me so that is why I opted for the 250. I also drove an 08 accord, TSX and TL, and they were great just a bit uncomfortable. Any suggestions are appreciated. BTW I will not buy another German car, great handling but maintenance is brutal.

A: It should handle fine. Its a a sporty car... The 2.5 V6 should have plenty of pep.

Q: What price should I pay for a 2007 Lexus IS250?
How low can I expect to be able to negotiate the price of a base model and the options packages?

A: Mary A is an idiot! Expect to pay in the low 30's, and I would also look into a slightly used IS350 or G35 Sedan and pay the same price. Best of luck!

Q: How much will my insurance be on a Lexus IS250. I am with farmers?
I am with farmers right now and have a 2001 rav4. I pay 80 a month full coverage and have never had a wreck. Thanks

A: What state are you in. Also full coverage is a vague term. There are many different levels of coverage. Call your Farmers agent and set up an FFR. He or she will know what that means.

Q: How much negotiating room is there in a new Lexus IS250 ($au)?
What is a really really good drive away price?

A: Figure roughly 20 percent of retail will be the actual cost to the dealer...example, 35.000 car, a dealer paid 28,000 to buy it from the manufacturer. Or ask to see the dealer invoice to negotiate a fair profit. If they balk, walk.

Q: How do you work a rolling code for your garage on a brand new lexus is250?

A: This is a process, so I'll try to get it all in this space. 1. in the car, hold the #1 and #3 buttons on the home link till the light flashes fast (about 20-30 sec.) This will clear the settings 2. Press and hold the one button down, while holding, press and hold the garage remote till homelink light blinks fast. Now go to the garage opener, In the rear (usually) is a button that will say learn code. You will have 30 sec to complete the next step. press and release the "learn" button and then go to the car. press the homelink button for 3 sec and release. You might have do this a total of 3 times. You can find my number at rohrich.com. click on the Lexus logo and Meet the staff

Q: I'm thinking of leasing a 2008 Lexus IS250 AWD, any suggestions on what price I can negotiate for a 10K lease?
I am from the Philadelphia area if that helps

A: The National Program on that car is $369x36 months with 10k a year. $3469 down plus Tax, Motor Vehicle fees and document fees. That is with TIer 1 Credit (730+)... There is always negotiation on a car price unless it is a New car or a car in limited supply. There are many variables as to how the deal is processed. Do you want a sign and drive (1st months payment down only, all fees & Tax rolled into payment) do you want just taxes down or taxes and fees? This is not something that you will be able to get an answer from someone else online. The best way to lease would be a sign and drive, but your payment may be higher than you have budgeted for. The best thing for you to do would be to factor in how much you can afford monthly (Realisticly) don't forget to budget in your insurance... then see how much you can afford to put down on the car.. lets say you dont want to pay over $450 a month and you can only put $2000 down. Go on the internet and give your 3 closest Lexus dealers that Info, wait and see who comes back with the best number. forward that best number to the other two dealers to see if they can beat it. Go on lexus owners forums and ask people that have purchased cars how your deal looks. Go into the dealership and buy the car. I don't know if you have driven the car but it is nice. There is a coupe and convertible model comming out in 18 months. ...Also when you are comparing prices you also have to compare options. If Dealer A is giving you a price on a car WITH nav and Dealer B is not then the numbers are going to be off.

Q: I am currently purchasing a car my options are 2006 lexus IS250 or Infinity G35 coupe what do you suggest, why?
Car help? Lexus 2006 $27900 28k miles and infinity price $26,900 17K miles.

A: depends on your needs. both are great cars. the Lexus has a soft quieter ride and the g35 has a hard sportier ride and a amazing exhaust sound !!! Although I own an Infiniti I would probably say get the Lexus. great usability, gas mileage and resale value. It not as fun to drive nor does it have the beautiful lines of the G35 coupe ( IMO ) but think you will be happier with flexibility of the Lexus ... see link for comparison of the two ...

Q: Does Lexus make a IS250 Manual Tranny with Navigation and Bluetooth?
I'm thinking about purchasing a IS250, but I want a manual transmition, but also want all the other features including Navigation. Does Lexus still make a 2007 IS 250 with these features? Thanks!

A: Look it up on either the Lexus website, or on Edmund's website. _ _ _ _ _

Q: What do you think of the 2006 lexus is250?
What do you think about the 2006 lexus is250 in regards to reliability and stuff ?? im thinking of buying one but it has 45 thousand miles on it I heard they are the most reliable luxury cars on the road im jw any input would help thanxs

A: It's very reliable. It's very good (but you would get a newer nav system if you would take an 09 model..) Oh and btw if its Lexus CPO you should have no problems with it.
