Q: How do you remove the rotors from a 03 Kia Spectra ? Caliper, brkts and 2 set screws come off but not caliper
Do I need to remove the large nut at the end of the axle ? If so, what size is it ?
A: To remove the rotors:
Pry the caliper piston back into the bore a little bit to take pressure off the brake pads
Remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper to the caliper bracket
Slide caliper from bracket and support DO NOT LET THE CALIPER DANGLE BY THE HOSE.
Remove brake pads and 2 bolts holding caliper bracket to spindle
Remove caliper bracket
Remove 2 screws holding rotor to hub
DO NOT REMOVE THE LARGE NUT IN THE CENTER OF THE HUB. This is the axle nut and doesn't hold the rotor on.
Remove the rotor (may need to use a hammer if stubborn).
Reverse procedure to install new rotors.
MAKE SURE TO TORQUE WHEELS WHEN DONE to reduce the chance of warping the rotor.

A: No, probably not. Engine can get noisy at higher rpm, soft suspension tuning on lower-end models, antilock brakes available on top SX trim only, disappointing IIHS crash test scores.

I just recently went to buy a car and ended up only being approved for a Kia Spectra. I think it is a great car, anyone had any experience with these and what feed back do you have?
A: I like Kia and believe the Spectra is a nice car. Kia has come a long way in terms of quality and dependability. Unfortunately, the resale value has not caught up quite as fast. That could be a good thing if you are in the market for a used car, I usually buy new, so it doesn't matter to me. I can say that Kia is very competitively priced when new. Considering it is cheaper than a Honda/Toyota/Nissan, it took years for those brands to gain resale like they have now. Compared to domestic cars the Kia is not too bad, especially when you consider the Kia is usually more reliable than the domestics.
As for those who bash Kia, do you currently own one like me? Or did you own one in 1999 and trashed the car, blaming Kia for the rest of your life? I don't buy all those angry people comlpaints, Kia/ Hyundai wouldn't be selling so well if every car they make falls apart. Come on, if poor people are the main buyers, wouldn't you think the word would go out quick that Kia was rubbish? I am completely satisfied with my Kia.
Q: I still cant find the oil filter on my 04 kia spectra? Can someone be more specific?
A: on the 1.8L engine it is on the side of the block facing the radiator.
on the 2.0L engine it is on the lower front of the engine,

Q: How do I change the brake light bulb in my 202 Kia Spectra GS?
A: most cars have cutouts/covers on the back of the trunk that lets you access the bulbs. Go to an auto parts store, look up your vehicle and get a new bulb. Remove the plastic cover, and remove the bulb/harness from the tail light (usually just a twist), the bulbs usually just twist out of the bulb socket also. Then reverse to install and check the light to make sure it works.
Q: Is anyone getting more than 30 mpg with an 05 Kia spectra 5?
I'm fighting with Kia because I was told I'd get 35 mpg with a Kia spectra 5. I'm getting 26 and looking for a possible class action for false advertising. Tell me what your getting and help me stop the lies

i'm pretty sure it's blown, and just wanna know an estimate on how much it'd cost me..
A: Go to the local stereo installer and ask if they have any laying around. Most of the time people don't want their factory speakers after getting new stuff. This is all based of the assumption that you have factory speakers. And if you are real nice to the guys in the shop they may even put the replacement in for you for free. Trust me, many of smiles have lead me to be kind hearted.
If they are newer or aftermarket, 30 dollars at Wal-mart for some Pioneer 3 ways maybe even Jesen.
Q: i have proplem in my kia spectra there is no ABS and there is 2 signal light an dashpoard TCS+ABS what hapun?

A: You probably have a faulty wheel speed sensor. The TCS light is for a Traction Control System fault. That system also uses the wheel speed sensors. If you are in the USA, go to Autozone or possibly Advance Auto Parts and tell them what you have going on and have them do a free OBD II scan test. It should tell you which wheel is not getting the wheel speed signal. Those sensors are somewhat fragile, and debris from the road could cause breakage. Replace the sensor, or have it replaced by a qualified technician.
Q: does anyone have a kia spectra? My steering wheel keeps popping and don't know why?
my kia spectra is a 2004 and the steering wheel's been popping for about a month and not sure why. they fixed the strut on the passenger side a little over a week ago. it was in an accident almost a year ago. we rear-ended someone. do you think the accident caused this?
the shocks are broken in already. we bought the car new 2 years ago and it has 36,000 miles on it. the alignment is fine, they checked the cvc joint. they said it was the strut but it still does it after it was fixed
this is to the person who said kia isn't good, you are wrong. it is a warranty issue, but i just wanted feedback not garbage from some idiot like you who doesn't know anything abou the situation. you need to shut up and answer questions that you know the right answers to.
A: Your car is more than likly front wheel drive. So have you had the CVC joints checked?

is there a way to make my kia sound and perform better for free or under $100? i got the money i just don't want to spend it if there is a cheaper way to do it. plus how do i get a wire through the firewall
A: nothing really you can do maybe save up money for a different car or a supercharger, look for a rubber boot in the firewall and solder the wire to the end of a hanger, shove the hanger through the rubber boot avoiding contact with other wires and voila

A: Not the Kia, their quality is getting better but your better off going with the other choices...based on looks i like the mazda 3

A: Now that they are owned by Hyundai they are much better cars. the Volkswagen's have the same warranty and the GTI and new Rabbit are nice cars for under 17 K

A: the kia spectra is a good car but one thing i have to say is that the interior is "cheap". Try to look into Mazda or Honda, they make really nice cars. Also to make your car hold its value i would recommend Mazda or Nissan, the Kia brand loses its value really quickly and i have heard of problems with the electronics (especially the windows). i would recommend a test drive of the car to really see if it suits you because you should buy what you like, at the end of the day your driving it!
