Q: Kia dealers?
I hear that Kia gives you good trade in deals anyone dealt with a Kia dealer? Any advice?

A: they do give good trade in values on other cars, just be careful when buying a KIA,they have been known to cause a lot of problems for their owners, they do have one of the best warranty's though you can get on a car now days,a friend of mine has a brand new one ,and is having no problems with it at all, good luck on it.

Q: kia problem with dealers?
i have a cliant with a 5 year old kia rio the clutch has gone & the car needs a new one? no problem so far ok. want to by a gen one in spain but they will not sell it me fully qualified mechanic for 20 years? is this normal? never had this with other dealers so why them, is this leagle?

A: We had a Kia. We had no problems with the car until it was 5 years old. Then everything went wrong with the car. The dealership acted like what do you expect after 5 years. The last straw was when the transmission went out. Never ever will I buy another Kia. If you are a mechanic I don't understand them treating you this way. I wouldn't think this would be illegal.

Q: What kind of a warranty do I get buying a used Kia from a private owner or a small non-KIA car dealer?
Does all the warranty (10yr/100,000 mile power train, 5 yr/ 60,000 miles bumper-bumper) transfer or do I just get the 5/60? Informed answers only please. THANKS.

A: What xx_satan in 99% right and I love is bold truth answers. But he his is off a little. Example is Dodge has a lifetime warranty but is only applies the owner who purchased it new. I would call the local Kia dealer with the vin number and they give you the warranty. However that is usually correct, the warranty stays with the car and not the person but their are exceptions to that rule and Dodge lifetime warranty is one of them.

Q: Kia is junk, a throw away car, but it has a 10 year warranty, will the dealer honor the warranty on a Kia?
Thinking about buying a Kia, hate the car, but if I do have any future problems will the dealers honor the warranty and repair any problems I do have so I don't have no worries?

A: The warranty is one of the best in the business, but like all warranties, as long as you maintain the car they will honor the warranty. Keep in mind, that warranty is for drivetrain failure, and a properly maintained vehicle is unlikely to have a drivetrain failure within 100k miles. Your problems will be poor build quality which will lead to all sorts of little problems that won't be covered, by 30k the car will rattle, the plastics will creak, by 50k some electronics will be doing funky things, and your suspension may be failing. The cars are cheap for a reason. Spend a little more money and get something better.

Q: Wanting to buy a Kia Sedona only the nearest dealer is 2 1/2 hours away. Who would service my vehicle locally
We are in Central Oregon where there are no Kia dealers. If we were to buy a Kia from Eugene or Portland, we would like to know if someone locally can do the regular maintenance without voiding the warranty??

A: I had the same issues, and while your warranty specifically allows you to have it warranty serviced by an non-Kia service center if you are 100 miles away from home, it does read "away from home" not away from a service center. And non-Kia dealers can't handle warranty parts without waiting to get them from Kia. This doesn't affect normal maintenance, only warranty issues. I personally loved my Kia for the first 58,000 miles. If there was a problem, they took care of it - often far more than I would have expected. For example, when my airbag light came on, they didn't just fix connections, they replaced the wiring harness and checked every connection again. Both wiring harnesses, just to be safe. But at 58,000 miles I had a problem and wasn't near the dealership. I took it to a dealership and they couldn't find it (it just stopped running on the freeway for a second). I then drove the car from Seattle to San Diego and it died as I got there. Took it to Kia there. They couldn't find it. Tried to drive it home. It died again and wouldn't run. Had to be towed to a dealership near Fresno. 3 days later they replaced a part but still had same problems when back in Oregon. It died near Coos Bay (no dealership within 2 hours) and had to get special permission to tow it to local firm. They couldn't get parts, so off to Kia in Eugene by tow truck. Then I had to arrange transportation, take off work and go get the car. And now it was out of warranty so they wouldn't cover the cost of repairs - even though problem had started before 60K. Bottom line - if you can't get the great warranty service I don't recommend the cars. And before I buy another car I'd read the reviews at carsurvey.org. Reading them for my Kia I probably never would have purchased mine. I do like Keifer Kia in Eugene, but I'd look at a different car if I didn't live near the dealership (and Keifer isn't open for service on weekends)

Q: Does anyone know which auto chain besides a dealer has the ATF SPiii fluid available for Kia and Hyundai? ?
I have a Kia RIO and need to know which national auto chain (ex:Midas, Jiffy Lube, etc) has the correct transmission fluid available for Kia and Hyundai cars. The dealer charges too much for the tranny oil change.

A: my answer is try to look around on this site http://www.autozone.com/

Q: Hicksville area Kia dealer in Hicksville New York?
owns another company who lied to my dad.HELP me he paid too much.my dad has a reading disorder. I think this company has a repuatation for doing this they feed on the old and weak, they said they have a signed contract.he bought a 04 sentra for 20k

A: damn, that sucks.

Q: dealers won't answer, how to install K&N cold air intake 06 Kia Sorento 3.5L V6 with illustrations, please?
The K&N intake came with directions but without any diagrams or illustrations on the locations of sensors, when asking a dealership to send these illustrations I'm told to go buy a manual and there job is to sell parts not GIVE it away. So if there is anyone with this knowledge I would appreciate your input. The purpose of the intake is to increase my low end torque so that I can pull a small camper and not put as much strain on engine. Let me thank you now for any help I can receive.

A: Yeah........... intakes don't necessarily up your torque; you should see a gain of about 15 HP though.... but it's an SUV you should have no problem towing a small camper with it. I don't know anything about Kias, sorry. Every intake I've ever put on was just a simple swap, I never had to mess with any sensors. Stay away from the dealership... more oftent than not, they will not want to help you. Try going to a small local repair shop and talking to a mechanic there. It's such a simple install, they would probably do it for you for lie $30 anyway. Other suggestion would be to go to Autozone or Pep Boys and have them show you what you need to do (they may even help you do it!).

Q: Dealer Did Not Transfer Registration to Buyer Within 5 months?
I bought a 2004 van from kia dealer and financed with wellfargo. I haven't received my Registration till 5 months. I paid my sixth payment to the bank. I received a letter from the bank saying that your contract will be over if we don't received title. Dealer dosn't send the smog test to dmv.

A: You need to contact Dealer Services through your local DMV. The dealer has 45days in most states to transfer title. Clearly, it's been longer. I would guess that the dealer didn't at the time of sale, and possibly even now, doesn't have clear title and that is why the stalemate. You need to explain to the rep what has happened, they will investigate the matter, and will also assist you in getting the situation taken care of, it's beyond your control, you need the help of the DMV and dealer services to get this straightened out. Without your emission test, you may be paying for a car that you can't drive any longer, those tabs are gonna run out soon. The bank also should be kept up on what is happening, their loan isn't secured without that title, and they certainly don't want that.

A: i own a repair shop, and i know what the problem is,,but you need to take it back in they,ll fix it at no charge to you at all ,,its got to do with the tires or the balance ,but there is an issue with a lot of them,,take it back they,ll repair it at no charge,,good,,luck,i hope this help,s.

Q: My Kia Rio?
Okay I have a 2001 Kia Rio. I have asked some questions about my car problems before but would like some more advice. I will tell the whole story from beginning to end this time :) A couple of months ago, I found that when my car was not warmed up properly (still cold) my brakes would grind when I was coming to a stop. But after the car warmed up, the grinding sound would be gone. Also, the car was in perfect alignment. When I would take my hands off the steering wheel when I was driving, the car would stay perfectly straight and not pull to the left or to the right. A few weeks ago (3 at least) the car started making a horrible noise when it was turning left or right. I don’t want to say “grinding” because I don’t think that would be accurate. It is not a metal on metal sound, it is more of a rubbing sound when you are turning (you know when you are too close to a curb when pulling in a parking spot?) Left or right it doesn’t matter which way you are turning it makes this sound, and it is not constant either it is intermittent like… rub….rub….rub…rub…rub. But it does not make this sound when the car is straight, unless you are coming to a stop and even then it doesn’t do it all the time. I took it to a local mechanic (not a Kia dealer) and he couldn’t find anything wrong with it, but he said he wanted to look at the transmission. I don’t think it is the transmission. He said it wasn’t the CV joints either. When I have the car running, and I turn my wheels all the way left and all the way right, you cant see that there is anything torn, broken, worn, or ripped. My question, since I realized that my brakes were grinding before, could it be that since my front brakes may have went that my rotors are warped? Other opinions as well please as I am not a mechanic :) Can the brake pads come loose to affect the turning? If there is something wrong with the brakes that can make the car make this noise? The alignment is no longer straight either, it now pulls to the right.

A: As far as the car being "warmed up" (as in engine) before driving it, that wouldn't affect your brakes making noise or not. I think your problem originally was depending on how long you let your car set after shutting it off, either your rotors (most likely) or pads would absorb air moisture & that would cause the grinding noise. After your brake pads "warmed up" & the moisture was gone, so was the sound. Your problem now appears to be a warped rotor - causing the rub, rub, rub sounds. Depending on how warped it is, you may be able to have it turned (flattened out again). Make sure you do both sides though. I'd take it to a reputable tire/brake shop & have them check it out. Not knowing when the last time you had your tires rotated / replaced, a warped rotor can be caused by braking if different torque settings on each wheel lug nut when putting the tire back on the car. Example: just like most things - when heat is applied, they will expand & the opposite is true. Imagine what happens to your rotor if just one lug nut is not tightened to the same torque as the others - when the rotor heats up during braking & then cools down, it will flex at that one spot causing it to warp. I have to wonder how many auto shops (quick lube places especialy) don't teach their techs this & the consumer winds up buying a new set of rotors due to something that wasn't their fault.

Q: where can I find a paint touch up stick for a Kia car?
I have been on the official web site and cannot order from there. The nearest dealer is miles away from me and I would like to order online. Please help.

A: as already correctly stated halfords stores sell these. they'll need the vehicles paint code though! this is normaly stamped on a plate under the bonnet or a door slam or glove box. the handbook will show it's location.

Q: KIA owners: Have you had a recent experience where your dealer quoted you $730 for the 30K service?
I though the dude was kidding me-he wasn't. Isn't this more like what a BMW driver would pay for a similar service? Your experiences, please.

A: That sounds expensive... go into your manual & write a list of things that are included in the service, then call the local garage(not a dealer) & get an estimate...
